Service Description

Come join our nature based, Waldorf inspired, outdoor education program popping up in Tavira, Portugal! Classes will be held in English, with beginning level Portugese. We will be studying the flora and fauna, singing songs, crafting and exploring the local culture. Excursions will include swimming with the dolphins, an olive oil farm and the salt caves. We will have weekly community dinners and events along with daily offerings of yoga, movement and breathwork for parents. Daily Rhythm: 8am drop off 830am mindfulness meditation and morning circle 9am crafting/portuguese lesson 930am snack 10am walk/activity/music 1130am lunch 12pm outdoor activity/movement/portuguese lesson 1pm reading/rest 130pm meditation and closing circle 2pm pick up Portuguese Curriculum: Day 1: Introduction game in Portuguese Formulation of basic Portuguese sentences Day 2: Introduction to local plants Learn a Portuguese song about rosemary with Diogo, a Portuguese singer + Plant the local plants in the garden Day 3: Musical instruments Presentation of local Portuguese instruments Learn a Portuguese song (“Mestre André”) Day 4: Learning the typical fruits from Portugal Learning the colors and a tradicional game (“Que linda falua”) Day 5: Introduction to the olive oil (with and excursion to the local Olive Oil Farm) Portuguese children's song & choreography (“Oliveirinha da Serra”) Handmade costumes Additional Options: Cooking “Sopa da Pedra” and theatre storyteller Traditional portuguese games Cooking a Portuguese dessert Family Enrichment Weekly community dinners Local excursions & adventures Breathwork sessions Family yoga classes Parent connection circles
